Directions of Use
Installation
-
Choose Location: Position the unit away from competing light sources (windows, overhead lights) and direct air drafts. Mount at a height ideal for attracting flying insects, typically around 2 meters above ground.
-
Mounting: Secure the unit to the wall in either a horizontal or vertical orientation using appropriate wall fixings.
-
Powering: Connect using the sFlyupplied quick-and-simple IEC mains cable plug, or have a qualified electrician hardwire the unit directly for a completely hidden finish.
Servicing & Maintenance
-
Changing Glueboards: Unclip and pivot the front guard open. Slide out the full Glupac® GB005 glueboard, peel off the protective backing paper from a fresh glueboard, and slide it into place. Pivot the front guard back into position.
-
Replacing Tubes: Swap the 15W TPX15-18 UV tubes annually (ideally before spring) to maintain maximum insect-attracting UV output. Tool-free access allows fast bulb swaps directly through the pivoted front guard.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Is the Halo® Curve flykiller suitable for customer-facing areas?
Yes, absolutely. The Halo® Curve is specifically designed for front-of-house spaces like dining rooms, hotel lobbies, cafes, and delis. Its sleek aluminium facade completely hides caught insects from view while blending seamlessly into modern decor.
2. How often should I replace the glueboards and UV tubes?
Glueboards (GB005) should be replaced every 4 to 5 weeks, or sooner if full. While the UV tubes (TPX15-18) may stay lit longer, their insect-attracting UV output degrades over time, so we recommend replacing them annually.
3. Can I install the Halo® Curve flykiller vertically?
Yes! The Halo® Curve is designed for ultimate flexibility and can be mounted either horizontally or vertically depending on your wall space and layout preferences.
4. Do I need tools to open and service the unit?
No tools are required for routine maintenance. The front guard conveniently pivots open, granting quick access to swap out tubes and glueboards without having to remove the guard or unmount the unit.
5. What coverage area does this unit handle?
A single Halo® Curve unit provides discreet, high-efficacy insect control for areas up to 60m².
